It's been a very busy Fall for me, so I haven't posted in ages. I met my goal of finishing the Wheel of Fortune Tarot Card that I have been working on for at least the past 5 years. I'll have to wait til the Spring to figure out how I want to frame it, having spent so much time working on it, I really want something special.
I already moved onto the next project "Woodland Guardian", and it should be a quicker piece to stitch. That is, as long as I don't pick up the wrong shade of green or brown!

Summer's end and progress on the Wheel of Fortune
It's sad to see that Summer is at an end. The UG come back next Monday and I start Fall classes as well, so I probably won't have much time to stitch.
Here is the latest image of the Wheel of Fortune. I only have about 2.5 pages left to go and then I can go back to the Phoenix or find another project to work on. I hope to have the Wheel done and hopefully framed by January.

And the wheel keeps rolling along
A few more weeks have passed and even during the busy summer I've been moving right along on this project. The bottom of the pattern is almost done, just part of a page on the left and then there are just 3 pages left out of the 12 page pattern. This has been the most productive year in regards to stitching the project and I really have hope that I'm gonna finish it this summer.

Switching it up!
Another month has passed and ironically, I've switched my focus to finishing "The Wheel of Fortune". Figured after 5 years, it's about time! I got another page or so done and I'm down to a little more than 3 pages left in the pattern.

The Phoenix- Progress Report
I've been stitching this for a bit, but not really focusing on it that much lately. I got an organizing bug so doing other things around the house and outside. With the weather so nice, it seems a shame not to take advantage of it.
So, from the photo you can't really see that much progress, but *really* there is progress.

The Phoenix
I knew that my next project was going to be a Phoenix, since I wanted to work with that color scheme after all the purples, blues and greens of the Bubble Cat. So, I found a pattern that I kinda liked and had to wait for the perfect fabric to come from the dyer. Well over a month later, I had the fabric but I found I didn't really like the pattern enough to stitch it. What's a girl to do? Well, look for a better pattern! Amazingly, not many people have designed patterns with a Phoenix, but I found one that I loved. Then came the wait for fabric that would do this pattern justice, and a bit of time to get started.
So, I've been stitching The Phoenix Flame by artist Leia Frazier produced by White Willow Stitching for about a week on an 32 ct overdyed fabric from their Expressions line called "Golden Promise" by Silkweaver. I'm only a few hundred stitches into the project, but I think the molted orange and yellow fabric is a perfect foil for the reds and vibrant oranges of the pattern. I think that I am going to modify the pattern and remove all the black areas to let the fabric shine through.

Bubble Cat FINISHED
All I can say is YIPPEE, I'M FINALLY DONE!
I just finished stitching the Bubble Cat and finished it off as a bookmark. The person who ends up with it had no idea I was stitching it for them and their mouth is probably gonna fall open in shock.
It's really good timing though, since I got the overdyed fabric I was waiting for in the mail yesterday. I'm gonna be able to go through the floss I have and should be able to start my next project in the next few weeks given the other things going on right now.

New patterns!
Yippee,
New patterns came, now I'm just waiting for the fabric for them to arrive and to finish the Bubble Cat.
A week has past and there is more progress, but there is still more to go. It amazes me how impatient I get once I get near the end of the project. I just want to stop where I am and start something completely new. Well, I guess I just have to keep plugging along- it is getting there!

Really making progress on the Bubble Cat
Guess it's because I really want to start something new and won't let myself until I'm done with this one! Not to say I haven't been pattern shopping again.
Here are a few patterns I just bought.
